On Fridays I share things that made me happy from the week - a photo, a song, a quote, a beauty product, a recipe, a pair of cute shoes, etc. If it's a product, sometimes it's something I actually own and sometimes something I just saw online that gave me a smile. Sometimes it's serious and sometimes it's silly. I suppose I believe that God is in the simple details of life and yes, I can even find Him in a tube of lipstick!
I'm combining 5 Friday Favorites with my Stitch Fix Review Day because for the first time ever I've kept all five items of my September Stitch Fix box!
I realized that if I kept both the 4th and 5th item - which I could maybe live without, but would certainly wear and enjoy - that meant that basically I got one of the items for zero dollars and the other item for $11 off. Said another way, I'd be spending $40 for two things that would have cost me $119 individually. Please don't check my work on this. Just believe. Now, maybe these were two things I wasn't sure I was in love with, but was pretty sure I was in like with, so totally worth it.
I discussed neither this justification nor this math with my husband because I feel like he'd give me one of these.
Let's proceed.
If you don't know the deal on Stitch Fix, you can read about it here. My suggestion is to be as detailed as possible when filling out your Style Profile and in making comments to your stylist. Mine have been pretty close to hitting the mark every time and this month was the best yet.
Here's a look at my 5 Friday Favorites.
1. Dex
Lucilla Utility Shirt
2. Vigoss
Erika Skinny Jean
The camo trend doesn't seem to be going away anytime soon and this fall I'm seeing the pattern on scarves, bags, joggers, and all kinds of tops. As a Texan with a lot of friends and family who are hunters and fishermen, I was not particularly thrilled about this look since it really is the native attire of my ancestors and brings me visions of animals hanging outside our ranch and/or doves being shot out of the sky. Rest assured, I do not plan to participate in any of the activities that a trendy camouflage print conjures up in my mind. All animals and birds are safe to roam and fly freely when I wear this top.
These Vigoss jeans are a great dark wash, but they didn't fit perfectly. For the first time, I used the "exchange" option with Stitch Fix which is completely free to get a different size. I sent them back on Tuesday and received the new ones on Thursday! I haven't tried on the new ones yet because it is so hot here that thinking of denim touching my legs makes me want to cry a river of tears in an ice bath, but I'll be sure to report back.
3. Market & Spruce
Derryl Applique Detail Linen Blend Top
This top is so pretty and is like nothing else I own. It has beautiful detail on the shoulders and the neckline. It is flowy without being too boxy. For those of us who are "crazy sleeve averse", I will tell you that this does have a slight bell sleeve, but it also is 3/4 length so as not to result in a chip and dip mishap. #winning It works perfectly with these tailored black shorts and wedges for the summer and will be great later into fall with jeans and boots. A definite keep.
4. Kaleigh
Baxen Back Detail Knit Dress
I wore this dress within minutes of taking it out of the box to a birthday brunch for my sister-in-law and have worn it three times since. It is a comfortable, forgiving fabric that has been perfect for the sweltering days we've had here lately. I also think I could wear a denim jacket with it as it gets cooler. Please, Jesus, let it get cooler.
5. 41 Hawthorn
Londyn Knit Double Breasted Jacket
This was my very, very favorite piece in the box this time because it is a jacket that has zero wool in it so I can wear it without looking like I have a raging case of pink eye. It's soft, somewhat stretchy, and really versatile and I cannot wait for it to get cool enough for me to wear it.
