5 Friday Favorites: November 27, 2020

It's time for my Friday link up with A Little Bit of Everything and Momfessionals

On Fridays I share things that made me happy from the week - a photo, a song, a quote, a beauty product, a recipe, a pair of cute shoes, etc. If it's a product, sometimes it's something I actually own and sometimes something I just saw online that gave me a smile. Sometimes it's serious and sometimes it's silly. I suppose I believe that God is in the simple details of life and yes, I can even find Him in a tube of lipstick.

Happy Friday, Friends. I know that if you are on the internet today at all you'll be flooded with Black Friday sales and suggestions. I want to be the person who "shops small"; especially this year. And I intend to do that. I also want to be the person who doesn't mess up the planet by using paper plates and who eats clean all the time and who doesn't get annoyed at people who drive too slow in the left lane.

Alas, I'm not always that person.

What I'm saying is that I'm a fool for Amazon Prime. I plan to shop small, too, but no matter how hard I try, I will not be able to resist the charms of lightening deals and free one day shipping.

So, here are some favorite things that might make good gifts for your people this year from that place I can't quit. Happy Shopping!

1. Sleeping Things

I will always suggest pajamas for the girls in your life. Especially this year as people are working from home, one might need day pjs, afternoon pjs, and evening pjs. There are never enough pjs. Sizing is more forgiving in pajamas, so it's easy to guess correctly. If you have someone in your life who likes a sleep shirt this one is super cute and comes in lots of different stripes and solids.

I think these floral pajama pants are adorable. Choose a matching tshirt and you're all set for you Zoom meeting.

I've mentioned these Jijama pjs before. I got a set a few years ago and they have held up beautifully. They are soft and warm without being too hot. This hooded Jijamas PJ Set is so cute. All of these pajama sets are a little pricier, but totally worth it.

This Deep Sleep Pillow Spray has thousands of great reviews. I have no idea how or why this works, but I do know that I was up at 3:00 am last night for no good reason, so it might be worth a shot.

2. Kitchen Things

It appears that this stupid virus is going to hang around, so many of us will continue to have to cook at home for awhile. For the men or women in your life who love being in the kitchen (or maybe they don't love it, but just have the task of keeping the people in their life alive by feeding them), this knife is great. We love it. I barely use any other knives in my kitchen anymore.

I ordered this set of Caphalon pots and pans recently when it was hugely discounted at Macy's. The deal is still on and this is a great price for this set. I received them awhile ago, but I haven't taken them out of the box yet because of these

Is this set of white pots and pans likely impractical and possibly too trendy? Yes. Have I still thought about them pretty much every day since I saw them? Yes. They come in a jade color also and the reviews are pretty positive.

Sophie and Melanie on the BigBoo Cast suggested following Half-Baked Harvest on Instagram and the recipes look amazing and not that difficult. They have a cookbook, Half Baked Harvest Super Simple, which has great reviews and would make a great gift for someone who likes to cook.

3. Outside Things

Well, because of the aforementioned stupid virus, if we are going to see anyone ever again we are going to need to figure out how to do it outside. We just got this firepit and were able to actually hang out with a few human beings that don't live in our house last week. Also, just to ramp up the Forced Family Fun we have in store for my sons, we got these marshmallow roasting sticks.

Apparently, Spike Ball is the new Corn Hole. I don't know much about it, but if it keeps the people off the Playstation in the basement for a little while, I'm here for it.

4. Techy Things

I thought airpods were so dumb when they first came out. (For the record, I thought texting, skinny jeans, and mini-vans would never catch on, so I've really got my finger on the pulse of things.) My kids gave me airpods for Mother's Day and they are the best. Now that I can do all the things around the house while listening to music or podcasts or talking to my sister without having to carry my phone around, I feel like I was basically Caroline Ingalls in my pre-airpod life. This is a great price for airpods. Don't forget all the cute covers

I really love my Fake Apple Watch. It's on sale for $29.99 which is about a bazillion dollars less than the real thing. Obviously, it doesn't do all the things the real one does, but it does all things I need it to do. It tracks my steps, miles, breathing, and just for kicks it even tells me what time it is! It comes in six different colors.

5. Teenager-y Things

It seems to me that the kids these days love the LED Strip Lights to put in their room. Since they're spending a lot more time in their rooms with online school, I've kind of given up on worrying about what the boys' bedrooms look like. 1970s Disco Vibe? Why not?

This Star Projector night light is pretty cool also. It has a remote control and 15 different lighting modes.

Don't overthink your gifts for teenage boys. They seem hard to buy for, but if you think about it all they really want is food. You can get just about any gift card under the sun here.

I don't know a whole lot about teenage girls these days, but it seems to me that they haven't changed much from when I was a teen in terms of the amount of beauty products they buy. Amazon has a bunch of different options for make up organizers. I have this rotating one. I also like this one because it has drawers. PS Ulta gift card here. Sephora gift card here. PPS I'd venture to say that a girl doesn't have to be a teen to enjoy a beauty/(all the anti-aging products) gift card. ;-)

Everyone I know who has this Revlon One Step Hair Dryer loves it. It was one of my favorite Christmas gifts last year and it is $20.00 off right now. Again, not just for the teenagers.

Well, that's it for Friday Favorites for today. I hope you have great success in your online shopping endeavors and/or I hope you remember that sales are not the boss of you and you can go watch the Texas Longhorns beat Iowa State and/or Hallmark Christmas movies all day instead of shopping. I also hope you had a happy Thanksgiving even if it looked a lot emptier this year. Have a wonderful weekend, Friends.
