It's time for my Friday link up with A Little Bit of Everything and Momfessionals.
On Fridays I share things that made me happy from the week - a photo, a song, a quote, a beauty product, a recipe, a pair of cute shoes, etc. If it's a product, sometimes it's something I actually own and sometimes something I just saw online that gave me a smile. Sometimes it's serious and sometimes it's silly. I suppose I believe that God is in the simple details of life and yes, I can even find Him
in a tube of lipstick.
Happy Friday, Friends. It's been maybe a little boring around here lately, but sometimes boring is good, yes? I'll take boring in 2021. It's also been FREEEEEZZZZING and windy the last few days which makes it a whole lot easier to stay inside away from the Covid. That brings me to some winter-y favorites for this week.
1. Orolay Thickened Down Jacket
Am I mentioning this coat for the bazillionth time? Yes, I am because it was hands down my very favorite thing this week when it was so cold I wanted to cry icy tears every time I had to take my dog out. In fact, every time I come in from walking Mack, I talk about this coat. My people find me to be such an interesting conversationalist. Since the virus doesn't seem to be taking the hint that we'd like it to take its leave, if we are going to see people we might have to do it outside around a fire. Add this coat to your Pandemic Style because it's a dream. I have the black, but I love this red and I love the yellow and I love the navy. Have I mentioned that I love this coat? Ok. Carry on.
2. Broadchurch
As it was freezing and dark and January-ry and my husband and I do not have a life we stayed in for the last week or so and watched this show on Netflix. Listen. If you are in the mood for a light, happy, feel-good show to watch, Broadchurch is not going to be a good choice. This series is brutal and it is difficult and it is creepy. Also, even if you're in for drama and suspense, please look up the premise before you watch because I've got some friends who I would tackle to the ground like an NFL linebacker before I would let them watch this show. Having said that, the performances are really good. Olivia Coleman is an incredible actress. I love a British/Irish/Scottish accent and the story is compelling. I had some issues with the writing at certain points, but we did blow through all three seasons in about a week and a half. Now, if you'll please excuse me while I go watch a few seasons of Mr. Roger's Neighborhood to heal myself.
3. The Weirdest Best Chili
I discovered this chili recipe a few years ago when I was doing the Whole30 Program. I made it this week again and it is so good and perfect for dinner for these cold nights. It has sweet potatoes and carrots in it, so I know that my Texas people will lose their ever-lovin' minds over that. Y'all, just simmer down, and trust me. It is delicious. Also, 1/2 cup of chili powder is not a typo. That's truly how much you use. And now my Texas peeps are back on board, right?
4. Waffle Knit Cowl Neck Tunic
I guess I can't get enough waffle knit tunics. I like this one with the cowl neck because tighter turtle necks make me feel claustrophobic. This comes in a bunch of colors and looks so comfortable.
5. Dream Pairs Winter Snow Boots
We went skiing at Snowshoe, West Virginia over Christmas break and we had a blast. However, I had a pair of Sperry snow boots that I bought a few years ago and they were straight-up garbage. My feet were freezing and even wet. I do not have these boots, but they are adorable and the reviews are great. They come in lots of colors and patterns. We've got snow coming this weekend and I'm wondering if these might be able to make it here in time.
Have a great weekend and stay warm, friends!
