5 Friday Favorites: April 16, 2021

It's time for my Friday link up with A Little Bit of Everything and Momfessionals

On Fridays I share things that made me happy from the week - a photo, a song, a quote, a beauty product, a recipe, a pair of cute shoes, etc. If it's a product, sometimes it's something I actually own and sometimes something I just saw online that gave me a smile. Sometimes it's serious and sometimes it's silly. I suppose I believe that God is in the simple details of life and yes, I can even find Him
 in a tube of lipstick.

Hello, Friends. Gotta hustle this morning, so let's get right to some of my favorite things from this week. Hope you found some things to make you smile this week, too! Happy Friday!

1. Pretty Garden Tie Dye Pajama Set

I have not ordered these pajamas yet because I was cleaning out closets and drawers last week and I had to have an intervention with myself about my pj addiction. However, it's not like pajamas are heroin, so I can't make any promises that I will stay on this particular wagon. My friend, Jen, told me about these Pretty Garden Tie Dye PJs and she said they are great. Tie-Dye is having a moment right now, so I honestly don't know why you couldn't wear this set right on out of the house and proceed with your life. In fact, maybe last week Jen went straight from her Saturday morning pj life to wearing the sweatshirt to an afternoon college baseball game because no one is the boss of her. I cannot confirm or deny. However, #belikeJen

2. Hold On To Me by Lauren Daigle

This song. I've listened to it a bazillion times this week. My goodness, Lauren Daigle is so incredibly gifted. I'm not sure there is another artist whose words and music relay God's love and presence so clearly to me.

3. Lumene CC Cream

I ordered this Lumene CC Color Correcting Cream from Amazon because my sister told me to. This seems to be a theme of the last few Friday Favorites. She suggested it a long time ago, but at the time I had just ordered the Rodan & Fields Radiant Defense Perfecting Liquid. I liked it a lot, but it is so expensive. The Lumene CC Cream is much cheaper - as in six times less expensive. It gives me plenty of coverage, but doesn't feel heavy on my skin.

4. It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia

This show. It is so inappropriate. So politically incorrect. So. darn. funny. It's on Hulu. I've only watched five episodes, but I think I'm in for the long haul.

Here are some disclaimers: Do not watch this if you are easily offended. Do not watch this with young children around. Do not watch this with your parents around. It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia was recommended to me by my 20 year old frat boy. Perhaps I buried the lead there. That little fact probably tells you all you need to know to make an informed decision.

Do you need to laugh? Really hard? Out loud? And then rewind because you want to laugh again? Real hard? Out loud? Because a lot of things are a huge bummer right now and life is scary and hard sometimes?

I do. So much. These people are handing out laughs every few minutes. I'll take it.

5. California Cabbage Salad

This Is Not A Photo of California Cabbage Salad

I can't remember if I've ever shared this amazing salad before, but we ate it this week and it's great.
Also, I don't have a picture of it because as I said it was great and we ate it all. So instead, I just added this completely unrelated photo of my littlest man when he was a 4 year old bat boy for his big brother's team. Now he's a 16 year old baseball player who face times me and calls me "Bear" (short for Mama Bear apparently) and works out a million times a week and eats more food than I can keep in the house and sends me funny Tik Tok videos of dogs. He made the high school team this week and we're so excited since the season was canceled after two scrimmages last year. I cannot handle the fact that this picture seems like it was taken exactly 5 minutes ago. Anyway, here's the salad.

2-3 cups of thinly shredded cabbage (I used bagged cole slaw mix)
4 green onions, sliced
1/2 cups slivered almonds, toasted
2 tablespoons sesame seeds, toasted
1 package chicken ramen noodles, broken up in small pieces
1 tablespoon red wine vinegar
1/2 teaspoon pepper
2 teaspoons sugar
3 tablespoons oil
1 package chicken ramen flavored seasoning (from the ramen noodles package)

Mix cabbage, onions, almonds and sesame seeds. Whisk together wine vinegar, salt, pepper, sugar, oil and ramen seasoning. Just before serving, toss salad with broken up noodles and dressing.

That's it for this week. Have a blessed weekend and thanks for stopping by!
