5 Friday Favorites: April 23, 2021

It's time for my Friday link up with A Little Bit of Everything and Momfessionals

On Fridays I share things that made me happy from the week - a photo, a song, a quote, a beauty product, a recipe, a pair of cute shoes, etc. If it's a product, sometimes it's something I actually own and sometimes something I just saw online that gave me a smile. Sometimes it's serious and sometimes it's silly. I suppose I believe that God is in the simple details of life and yes, I can even find Him
 in a tube of lipstick.

Happy Friday, Friends! Gotta be quick today because I'm in an airport with sketchy wifi. Hopefully this will post. Here are some favorites from the week. Hope you've found some, too!

1. Home Economics

I saw something about this show last week and was thinking that it might be good because I love Topher Grace from That 70s Show and the premise sounded like a good one. Three grown-up siblings have very different financial situations. One is very wealthy, one is struggling, and one (Topher Grace) is a writer who finds himself somewhere in the middle. I watched the first two episodes and I laughed a lot. I have low expectations lately and if a show makes me laugh even a little, I'll stick around. I think I'm all the way here for this show. (And still loving It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia which I mentioned last week . . .HI. LAR. I. OUS.)

2. Lisbon Wants Moor OPI

If you're looking for a neutral polish Lisbon Wants Moor OPI is a great choice. It's a pink/white/beige color. I literally can't pick out which of those three dominates this color. It's not too bright to be called pink, not too harsh to be called white, and not too boring to be called beige. Whatever it is, I think it's a perfect shade for spring and summer.

3. Crown Vintage Wedge Sandals

I bought a pair of neutral Crown Vintage wedge espadrilles two years ago and just wore them this week for the first time this season. I was on my feet all day and they didn't bother me a bit. I don't see the same style available this year, but these Chalina wedges by Crown Vintage are similar. I'd guess they would be as comfortable. They come in black suede, olive green suede, mustard yellow suede and gold metallic/cognac faux leather with a cork wedge. So cute.

4. Anrabess Short & Long Rompers

Last year I bought a solid navy Anrabess romper from Amazon and I love it. I wore it all the time. This year I noticed this tie dye short romper by Anrabess and it's adorable. Personally, I think it would be so cute for a young-er than me person. I think maybe the ship has sailed on my tie-dyed short romper days unless maybe I wore it for a swim suit cover up. I don't know. I'm conflicted. Anyway, they do  have tons of choices of tie-dye and solid colors available in both short and long rompers. I would guess they are the same quality as last year's which was really soft and comfortable.

5. Sorority Sisters, Topo Chico, Tequila and Lime

I got to see two of my very best college friends this week when I was in Dallas and we met for Mexican food and drinks. You combine two girls who have loved you for over 30 years with tacos and a Topo Chico, Tequila, and Lime and you've got a sure-fire way to keep a smile on your face for at least a week. Thank you University of Texas Kappa Alpha Thetas for bringing me these two women. It's a special kind of friend who is willing to stick by you from the time you thought it was a good plan to wear boots, a long wrap skirt, and a mock turtleneck to a football game when it was 95 degrees outside in 1990 to a time when you're trying to figure out how to manage night sweats and crow's feet in 2021. Girlfriends are a blessing straight from God. Amen.

Have a blessed weekend!

I just dvr'd the show "Home Economics" the other night. I thought it looked funny & I've been meaning to record it. I'll probably watch it this weekend. I love OPI polish. That color looks pretty.
