5 Friday Favorites: February 25, 2022

It's time for my Friday link up with  A Little Bit of Everything and Momfessionals

On Fridays I share things that made me happy from the week - a photo, a song, a quote, a beauty product, a recipe, a pair of cute shoes, etc. If it's a product, sometimes it's something I actually own and sometimes something I just saw online that gave me a smile. Sometimes it's serious and sometimes it's silly. I suppose I believe that God is in the simple details of life and yes, I can even find Him in a tube of lipstick.

Good Tired Morning, Friends. Are you tired? I'm tired. It was a full, busy week and I'm ready for the weekend. So, let's get to the favorites because I feel like if I write many more words, I might break the internet with typos and grammatical errors. (Yawn)

1. Knox Rose Eyelet Top

I picked this eyelet top up when I had hopes and dreams for a romantic dinner out for Valentine's Day. I knew in my heart that I would not want to go out on a Monday night after a weekend of gorging myself on biscuits and gravy in Knoxville and a Super Bowl Snacks extravaganza the night before but hope sprang eternal. On Valentine's Day we ate leftovers and I stayed in my pjs pretty much all day and we watched the rest of Ted Lasso. So, I wore the top this week. It comes in a few other colors and is very feminine and pretty even on February 23rd.

2. I Want You Back

Steve was out of town this past weekend and Drew might as well be out of town because he's never here, so I watched this movie on Amazon Prime. It won't win any Academy Awards, but it was sweet and funny. I espeically liked it because it was reminiscent of the romantic comedies of Ye Olden Days when every movie didn't have to have some sort of superhero in it.

3. Glass Soap/Lotion Dispensers

I have not ordered these glass soap dispensers, but I saw them some where on Instagram and I think they are so cool. I hate having a Dawn Detergent bottle and a random hand soap dispenser that doesn't match on my kitchen counter. (Is "hate" a strong word in this context? Yes, perhaps.) Anyway, these bottles come with little sticker labels so you can decided what you want in each bottle and then you can put them on this cute concrete tray. Also, you can choose amber or white bottles and black, silver or gold pumps. What a world! Sometimes it's the little things, right?

4. Capri Blue All A Glow Petite Glass Jar Volcano Candle

This is a crazy good price for these candles. I bought a few of the Volcano blue jars when they were on sale at Christmas and they, of course, smell amazing. I really like this size and the glass on this one. Also available in a kind of cool tie-dye-esque jar with a Toasted Almond scent.

5. Seems like it might be time for Mr. Buechner again

Since I'm wiped out today and don't seem to have any words and Frederick Buechner writes the very best words I know, I'll share some of my favorite words of his that I came upon this week. Doesn't he look so kind and wise? I just want to hang out with him.

On taking care of yourself - selected passages from Listening to Your Life:

(For context, Buechner's daughter suffered from a debilitating eating disorder.)

Love your neighbor as yourself is part of the great commandment. The other way to say it is: Love yourself as your neighbor. . .If your daughter is struggling for life in a raging torrent, you do not save her by jumping into the torrent with her, which leads only to your both drowning together Instead, you keep your feet on the dry bank - you maintain as best you can your own inner peace, the best and strongest of who you are - and from that solid ground reach out a rescuing hand. "Mind your business" means butt out of other people's lives because in the long run they must live their lives for themselves, but it also means pay attention to your own life, your own health and wholeness, both for your own sake and ultimately for the sake of those who love you, too . . .A bleeding heart is of no help to anybody if it bleeds to death.

Y'all get some rest this weekend. Thanks for stopping by!
