5 Friday Favorites: October 14, 2022

It's time for my Friday link up with  A Little Bit of Everything and Momfessionals

On Fridays I share things that made me happy from the week - a photo, a song, a quote, a beauty product, a recipe, a pair of cute shoes, etc. If it's a product, sometimes it's something I actually own and sometimes something I just saw online that gave me a smile. Sometimes it's serious and sometimes it's silly. I suppose I believe that God is in the simple details of life and yes, I can even find Him in a tube of lipstick.

Good morning. It's Friday. Already. This week seemed like it went really fast. Of course, this was my favorite thing that happened all week.

I spent a lot of my time on Saturday evening scrolling Twitter for all the shenanigans that I knew would happen on various accounts. It did not disappoint. I'll be spending most of this weekend juggling watching Drew's baseball games and tuning in on my phone to watch Texas play Iowa State. Then I will promptly change into my Tennessee Orange to see if the Kyle's Vols can beat Alabama. Then Joe's Penn State team is playing Michigan. It's like Christmas for the college football fans this weekend.

Earlier this week, I had some Amazon Prime Day Favorites which I guess are not necessarily on sale anymore, but likely still available. You can check them out here. Here are some other favorites from this week.

1. Bad Sisters

This show on Apple TV is so good. The acting is phenomenal. It's hilarious and I'm all the way into it. Fun fact: the youngest sister is Bono's daughter.

2. OPI Drip Dry

I hate doing my own nails which sounds really bratty, but mainly it's because I'm so impatient. I hate waiting for my nails to dry. I found this OPI Drip Dry and I had very low expectations. I am shocked to tell you that this stuff really, really works. I painted my nails and then put one drop on each nail and I'm telling you they were dry in minutes. Game changer.

3. Tennessee Orange

Since I'm always lamenting Tennessee Orange, I thought this was the sweetest song.

4. Kut From the Kloth Natalie Mid Rise Bootcut Jeans

Finding jeans these day is a STRUGGLE. I cannot stand wearing high rise jeans. I know a lot of people like them, but they are so uncomfortable for me. I guess I'm short-waisted or something, but I'm constantly on a search for mid-rise jeans. I found these from Kut From the Kloth and they are 50% off right now. I'm crossing my fingers that they'll work.

5. Take Up Your Mat and Walk

I was honored to speak at my church on Sunday on John 5:1-18. Talking about Jesus really and truly is my most favorite thing to do. I was so blessed to have the opportunity. One of my Bible Study friends mentioned that she knew my message was coming from a personal space because we are pretty vulnerable and open about the struggles and conversations we have with God in our group. I realized that whenever I'm preaching, I'm generally preaching to myself first. Take a listen if maybe you need to hear a message on trusting the path Jesus has for you rather than the script you've been trying to write for you and your family all on your own. He won't leave you stuck. You just have to pick up that mat and start walking with Him.

Have a great weekend, Friends! Hook Em Horns!!!!!

You don't know me, so I hope this isn't too creepy. I have been following your blog for a few years and oh MAN did I think of you and your sweet boys yesterday as the Vols stomped Alabama! And, in a nice bit of harmony, I was actually back in my hometown (Ann Arbor) with my 25 year old son who gave me a ticket to the game Michigan Penn State for Christmas and we met (he from NYC me from Portland Oregon) and are having the very best weekend.

Not creepy at all!! It was quite a weekend for my son at the game! He said it was the best day of his life!😂 Sounds like a wonderful weekend for you with your son. Plus a big win for Michigan! My oldest graduated from Penn State so wasn’t too thrilled but what a fun time for you!! Thanks for commenting!
