5 Friday Favorites: November 4, 2022

It's time for my Friday link up with  A Little Bit of Everything and Momfessionals

On Fridays I share things that made me happy from the week - a photo, a song, a quote, a beauty product, a recipe, a pair of cute shoes, etc. If it's a product, sometimes it's something I actually own and sometimes something I just saw online that gave me a smile. Sometimes it's serious and sometimes it's silly. I suppose I believe that God is in the simple details of life and yes, I can even find Him in a tube of lipstick.

Happy Friday! I have to hurry today because after being a runner for 17 years I realized I needed to change my exercise plan. So I joined Orange Theory and it starts in a few hours. Maybe that seems like plenty of time to prepare, but I'm afraid I'm going to die in there. So I need ample time to do some praying, stretching/hydrating and attempting to cancel before I go. Trying new things is not my jam. It's shocking that I ever stopped doing Step Aerobics and wearing leg warmers.

Here are some favorites from this week that do not involve a rowing machine and squats.

1. In the Wild Light

I just started this book this week which was recommended by Melanie and Sophie of the BigBooCast podcast. I know I shouldn't call it a favorite yet because I haven't finished it, but I can already tell it's going to be so good.

2. 1883

Steve and I started watching 1883, the prequel to Yellowstone, this week. I'm loving it. Tim McGraw is really good. Also, I would like you to say prayers for my son, Joe, because I had to figure out how to find this show on Paramount Plus which I'd never done before. This involved a FaceTime call the likes of which should have landed us on the Progressive commercials. It's really tough being 112 years old with a Smart TV and three remote controls, but it might be tougher to be my son on the other side of a Face Time call.

3. Navy Plaid Flannel

I have too many plaid button downs for Fall, but if you must know, I do not have a navy one. I love this shirt and I want it and I'm getting it because $22. The end.

4. Whole30 Buffalo Chicken Casserole/Dip

I've mentioned this Buffalo Chicken Casserole before, but was talking about it with a group of friends recently, so I thought I'd re-post it. My people LOVE this stuff. I make it at least once every couple of weeks. There is no dairy in it at all - no cheese, no cream cheese, no sour cream. I know it sounds terrible. It's not. It's amazing and makes a perfect football watching snack. I suppose you can eat it with cut up veggies to keep it Whole30, but my guys eat it with Fritos Scoops because BALANCE.

5. The Blingest Bling I've Ever Seen

The kid and his baseball teammates received their State Championship Rings Friday night and were recognized at the football game. The boys were involved in the design of the ring and shall we say, they did not mess around. I suppose if you're going to get one, you want to go as overboard as you please. And they did, thank you very much.

I'll never get over that season. What a gift. We'll keep celebrating as long as we can.

Y'all have a great weekend!
