5 Friday Favorites: October 28, 2022

It's time for my Friday link up with  A Little Bit of Everything and Momfessionals

On Fridays I share things that made me happy from the week - a photo, a song, a quote, a beauty product, a recipe, a pair of cute shoes, etc. If it's a product, sometimes it's something I actually own and sometimes something I just saw online that gave me a smile. Sometimes it's serious and sometimes it's silly. I suppose I believe that God is in the simple details of life and yes, I can even find Him in a tube of lipstick.

Hi, Friends. And Happy Friday. The leaves have changed here in Virginia and it's my favorite time of year. I've been here for 30 years and I still can't get over how beautiful it is in the fall. It should be a lovely weekend for my very last travel baseball tournament ever. I think I went my first travel baseball tournament when Joe was nine years old and he's 24 now.  You know what?

Here are some favorites from this week.

1. Plaid Swing Shirt Dress

I went in to church on Sunday morning, looked up at the choir and noticed that my friend, Carole, who not only has a beautiful voice, also has very, very good tasted in dresses. We both had on the same dress. We also happen to have on the same Park Lane earrings and necklace. This dress is so comfortable. If you want to know the truth I wore it three times this week alone - once with tennis shoes, once with clogs and once with cowboy boots. It's 20% off right now plus you can get an extra 40% off with the code BFF. Which I think is appropriate. Grab your BFF and go get one!

2. Shu Uemura Eye Lash Curler

Y'all. Brace yourselves. My eye lash curler broke. I know what you're thinking. Last week with McDonald's being out of Diet Coke and Chick-Fil-A forgetting my straw and this week with a tragedy like this? How much more can I take? I'll persevere. Because I ordered this one. I had one of these years ago and it is the best ever.

3. Plaid V-Neck Tunic Top

I want to buy this top. I do not need to buy this top. The description says this is red and white, but it looks more maroon. This top would be perfect for a Texas Aggies fan. I am a lot of things, but am not a Texas Aggie fan. Not even close. Why would I want this top? I will not buy this top. However, there are other colors. I will not buy any of the colors. Today. At least. I am a pillar of strength and will power. The end.

4. Chocolate Mousse Pumpkins

I had a meeting at my house the other night so I bought a bunch of fun fall desserts from Trader Joe's. Drew Skinner claims that "these things slap." I agree. I guess. They're good if that's what you want to know.

5. Say it louder, Barb

I consume a lot of stuff. Devotionals, novels, books, podcasts, music and the actual Holy Bible. All the things. This quote from some guy named Drew Monson shared by some woman who calls herself "Peaceful Barb" might be the most impactful thing I've read in months.

Y'all have a great weekend! Since the entire Texas Longhorn Football team and I are in a fight - even if they don't know it - I will say GO VOLS. Beat Kentucky. GO PENN STATE. Beat Ohio State.

And also, 14 penalties, Horns? Tighten it up.

That quote is GREAT! Just yesterday I said to a friend, "if this conversation had been at 6 p.m. instead of 6 a.m. I would have said 'I QUIT'. . .but I'm not tired so I will hold my tongue, absorb the information, and probably calm down in a couple of hours" -- ha! Nine p.m. is generous :). At least I know I don't make good decisions when I am tired :/.
I clicked on both of your fashion favorites -- and both are hard to resist!! I guess it's too late to have pumpkin treats in the house, but we don't need any more sugar around here anyway ;)
GO TN. . .8-0 now with many people saying they CAN beat GA!!! TCU seems to be the TX team to root for this year :)
