5 Friday Favorites: March 12, 2021

It's time for my Friday link up with A Little Bit of Everything and Momfessionals

On Fridays I share things that made me happy from the week - a photo, a song, a quote, a beauty product, a recipe, a pair of cute shoes, etc. If it's a product, sometimes it's something I actually own and sometimes something I just saw online that gave me a smile. Sometimes it's serious and sometimes it's silly. I suppose I believe that God is in the simple details of life and yes, I can even find Him
 in a tube of lipstick.

Happy Friday! My allergies are so bad right now that I can barely see to type this up, so this Friday Favorites will be quick. March kills me every year. If you see me in the next few weeks, my apologies because this is pretty much what our time together will be like:

Luckily, despite the fact that I can't stop sneezing and rubbing my eyes, I did find a few favorite things this week so you're not forced to read about my bottle of Zyrtec and my box of Kleenex. Here we go . . .

1. Firefly Lane on Netflix

I finished reading Firefly Lane and am about half way through the Netflix Series. Here's the thing. The acting isn't the greatest. The dialogue is pretty cheesy at times and I've rolled my eyes at the plot line more than once. On the plus side, it has great 70s and 80s music and fashions and it's about two best friends living their lives side by side. There isn't a drug ring or an organized crime boss or murdered child to be found. It's exactly what I'm looking for right now.

2. The Fortunate Ones by Ed Tarkington

My mom read this book recently and recommended it to me and I'm flying through it. I was hooked from the first chapter. It follows a teen being raised by a single mother in working class East Nashville who is offered a scholarship to an elite private boys school on the wealthy side of town. The characters are really compelling from the first page and I always love a novel set in the South.

3. Kohl's PJS

I almost never go to Kohl's but I was told they had a great pjs, so I bought this Croft & Barrow Navy Paisley set for my mom. They are so cute and the fabric is really soft and breathable. They were originally $42.00, but you can get them for $25.76 today with the code TAKE20.

4. Grasshopper Pie from mixandmatchmama.com

I make this Mint Chocolate Chip Grasshopper Pie from Mix and Match Mama every St. Patrick's Day and my people love it. The recipe makes two pies. Mix and Match Mama has a bunch of other fun, easy recipes for St. Patrick's Day here.

5. Target Spring Tops

It's finally warm enough for short sleeves around here. I found some really cute tops for less than $20.00 each at Target this week. This short sleeve button down comes in a few floral patterns, but I really like the striped options. It comes in grey, pink, or blue. It's $18.00, but you can get 20% off all women's tops today!

I adore this short sleeve sweatshirt. It is so comfortable and lightweight. It comes in solid colors, but this stripe is my favorite. It's $20.00, but again, you can get it for 20% off today.

That's it for today, friends. I'm off to buy 17 boxes of tissues. Have a great weekend. May your allergy meds be strong and your mascara be waterproof. Happy Springtime!!
