Therefore, I would like to submit my name for consideration for the the AllStar Adulting Team. I should be a shoe-in and expect notification any time now.
There were some things that I found in the last seven days that shined a little light into the task list, so here's 5 Things on a Friday for this week.
1. Little League Baseball
Have I ever mentioned here that Little League is one of my favorite things? No? Well, then I should tell you that I'm a fan. Listen, we've jumped on the travel ball bandwagon, too, but I will always be a much bigger fan of Little League. I'm a fan of little boys who don't give up and play their little hearts out until the final moments of the final inning.
And that's what we've got in Drew's team this year. They've won their last two games after being down in the bottom of the last inning. There is no quit in this team. And I'd say that's true of almost every team I've seen during this season. So, yeah, I'm a fan. I'm a fan of the community of families and players who come out to the ballpark to watch their buddies on opposing teams even when their own teams are out of the running. I'm a fan of a team of boys who are down by one run in the bottom of the sixth and yet step up to the plate believing that it ain't over 'til it's over.
And personally, I'm a fan of a boy who, by all accounts, even though it might sound harsh, had an awful game at the plate on Tuesday night, striking out every single time. I'm a fan of those clutch teammates of that boy who on Thursday night, being down again in the final inning, found ways to get on base even when the pressure was through the roof. And I'm a fan of that boy who despite probably having visions of those strike-outs dancing in his head, stepped into the batter's box with the game tied and hit a walk-off single to bring that speedy-pants teammate standing on 3rd base all the way home for the win. And I'm a gigantic fan of a friend who I had no idea had her camera pointed at exactly the right time. Yes, I know it's just a game. Yes, I know it's just a bunch of kids throwing a ball around. And I also know it's given us some pretty special people and some pretty special moments.

2. SNL: Mother's Day "The Cut" Skit
I actually saw this a few weeks ago and meant to share it. SNL does not disappoint. This is hilarious and totally worth five minutes of your time. "A soft waterfall in the front, but knives in the back". This is the best.
I found this place a couple of weeks ago. Is it an outlet? Is it a spinoff? Is it the regular JCrew? Listen. I have no idea. All I know is that it it is happiness. Happiness at a discount. I got four tops from there and I could have bought out the whole darn store. Just about everything I bought was on sale for something crazy like 40% off. Find one in your area. Seriously. Happiness AT A DISCOUNT.
Unfortunately, THIS top was sold out in white, but I bought it in black. It's adorable.
THIS is a perfect white top to wear all summer. I love it. It is called a "popover" top which makes zero sense to me, but whatever. I like it. And, in fact, if you popover to those photos above this is the top I was wearing when I was kissing the freckles off that kid's face.
4. Keith Urban's Wasted Time
If you're looking for your summer jams (and really who isn't?) I think we all know that Justin Timberlake tops the list. I would have to offer Keith Urban second place though. His new song, Wasted Time, is perfect for summer nights on the deck or at the pool or while you're driving to your 425th baseball game.
This is my new favorite drink. I mean besides Diet Coke. Don't get crazy. The Green Tea infused with Papaya and Passion Fruit is ridiculously good. I had high hopes that it didn't have many calories, but unfortunately, it apparently has upwards of 160 calories. It is awfully sweet, so I shouldn't be surprised. Still this is a really yummy summer drink and could, potentially, not likely, but maybe replace one of my Diet Cokes a few times this summer.
That's all, friends! Have a great weekend!
