January Stitch Fix Summary

It's Stitch Fix Review Day! I received a box at the middle of the month. To be honest this wasn't one of my favorite fixes, but I did get an awesome pair of jeans for a really great price, so I still consider that a win.

I've got some great news! If you want to try  Stitch Fix and you link there from here, they are waiving the styling fee. That means you can try this for $0 dollars which is FREE, girls! Normally, you pay $20 to receive your box of five items and if you don't choose anything you are out $20. If you do choose to buy an item, the $20 comes off the price. But today if you sign up, you can try it without paying a dime. Either way, shipping the items you don't want back to Stitch Fix is always free and easy.

Also, just a heads up. There is a Stitch Fix program for men as well. It might be a good Valentine's gift for your man. I gave it to my hubby for Christmas and he got a great pair of Tom's leather loafers in his first shipment that he really likes. I liked everything they sent him, but he was a little more skeptical. Listen, Rome wasn't built in a day. I'm holding out hope that he'll choose more than one item from his next fix. No matter what this is a great gift if your man doesn't like shopping for himself.

Here's a look at my January Fix.

Harper Lane
Melliann Thumbhole Cardigan

This olive colored sweater was slouchy and soft and so comfortable. I was *this* close to keeping it - especially after I came up with this outfit for it. In the end, I just couldn't keep it because I have three other long cardigans and this color really is not great on me. I was worried that it would sit in my closet more than on my body. This was a tough return, but I sent it back.

Nine Britton
Maybelle Tie Front Knit Top

All I could think about when I saw this top was the Chick-Fil-A cows. Which isn't great when you're smack dab in the middle of the Whole30 eating program that unfortunately does not include the joy of chicken strips and waffle fries. This was a "no" from the beginning. The tie at the waist is a cute detail, but I'm not a fan of flutter sleeves on me and the polka dots were just too big. Even when I tried to cover it up with a denim jacket, I still didn't like it. This was a return.

Shiraleah
Illinois Square Scarf

This was a large scarf with some great colors. I liked it, but styling a large scarf can be tricky and my January brain can't deal with tricky. Plus, I cleaned out my closet recently and realized that I have way more scarves than is necessary for a girl with only one neck. This was a return.

Emory Park
Dulce Hacci Knit Top

When I saw the photo card that Stitch Fix sends with the items pictured, I thought this sweater was going to be grey. It is grey-ish, but it is also purplish which is a deal breaker for me. My stylist informed me that the Pantone color of the year is violet this year. I only learned that there was such a thing as a Pantone color of the year a few years ago, so I'm too old to care about that now. And also, I dislike purple with an unreasonable passion, so I hope all the people who look good in purple will enjoy how much we'll see it this year. I'll just sit this one out. This was a return.

STS Blue
Neve Fray Hem Skinny Jean

Stitch Fix kills it in the jeans department. I really needed some jeans that were not distressed and these were perfect. The fit is great. They're skinny and don't end up bagging in the knees even after being worn all day. They have a frayed hem and were the perfect length. And at only $49.00 I thought the price was great.

That's it for the January review. Don't forget you can try Stitch Fix risk free by clicking "Go" on the link below to get started and I'll get a discount on my next fix which will make me so happy and grateful!
Have a great Monday! :-)

Stitch Fix Review!! December 2017

It's Stitch Fix Review Day! I got a box delivered on Sunday, just in time for Christmas. I am officially wrapping up a couple of things and telling my husband that he can chill and not do his usual last minute shopping for me this go round. I'm selfless like that. ;-)

Speaking of, if you are still searching for a last minute idea and don't want to have to brave the mall, a Stitch Fix Gift Certificate just might be what you're looking for for your mom, sister, girlfriend, friend or even your husband. The deal is that there is a $20 a month styling fee. Your person goes to the site and fills out a style profile and determines how often she'd like a shipment. (I get a box every other month.) Then 5 items show up on her doorstep. She tries them on, has three days to decide, mails back what she doesn't like in a pre-paid envelope and keeps what she wants. If she chooses any items her styling fee is credited to the price. If she chooses all five she gets 25% off her order. Go HERE and you can even just sit here in your jammies watching the Hallmark Channel and just have an email sent to your person's inbox. Done and done.

My stylist, who happens to be named Jason, actually is a real person and did a great job picking out items for me. He (or she? I don't know any Jasons that are shes, but could be) even wrote a note which made it clear that he heard my plea for no more wool in any of the sweaters I'm sent.  YAY! This brings us to Item number 1.

Loveappella
Persy Drawstring Hem Knit Sweatshirt

This sweatshirt is so soft and not made of a single thing that will give me hives. It's thin, so it's not too hot or bulky. I think it can be really casual for a day hanging on the couch or sitting in the basketball gym or could be dressed up a bit.

Other outfit details:

Articles of Society
Tiana Skinny Jean

These Articles of Society black skinny jeans were really cute and reasonably priced. I think black jeans can dress up just about any top. I already have a great pair of black jeans that are from Banana Republic. They are really old, but holding up pretty well. Kinda like me. :-) I think the grey sweater will be great with black jeans and these suede grey booties.

Other outfit details:

Pink Clover
Elanie Button Down Blouse

This top fit well and I liked the cut. Also, it has a plethora of stars on it. Perhaps the song lyrics "The stars at night are big and bright, deep in the heart of Texas" should have motivated this Texas gal to want to wear stars all over her shirt, but alas, they did not. Still, because I am a loyal Texan who loves the big and bright stars of my home state, I put this outfit together. And then I returned the shirt because my love has healthy boundaries. The end.

Other outfit details:

Amour Vert
Kaitlyn Striped Drawstring Pullover

This cute pullover was totally my jam as far as the stripes, the colors and the style. The only problem was that for me, a casual sweatshirt pullover needs to be a bit bigger than my normal size and this wasn't. It fit perfectly, but I would have liked it to be roomier. Anyway, it made a cute outfit before I returned it.

Other outfit details:
Joggers from Stitch Fix/ Shoes / Earrings / Similar Watch

Octavia
London Mixed Material Satchel

I hugged this bag when I took it out of the box. It's so embarrassing. I didn't have any idea that I  wanted or needed an olive colored bag until it was staring me in the face. It's exactly like a Hallmark Christmas movie plot actually. The single, hard working mom - who is usually someone from a 90s sitcom - is certain she has no time or interest in love again and then she finds herself running into an incredibly good-looking, yet exasperating Christmas tree farmer numerous times until she realizes that he is her soulmate and she must kiss him under the mistletoe as snow falls around her in giant heaps. You see? She didn't know what she needed until she bumped right into him it. Pretty much same plot line here. Yes? No? Whatever. I've watched a lot of Hallmark Channel this week.

Anyway, I love the gold zipper detail. And that little tag hanging off the strap? It's totally meaningless, but makes me happy. This was a keep, but I'm not letting myself use it until Christmas because I make arbitrary rules like that to offset how shallow it is that I hugged a handbag.

Other Outfit Details
Similar Jeans/ My Favorite Boots Ever / Similar Plaid Shirts

So, that's it for today. I kept two of the five items sent to me which I consider a win. I still think all of the items were really cute and that Stitch Fix continues to do a great job with sending me items that are right in my style wheelhouse.

Remember this makes a unique gift, so go here to sign up for Stitch Fix for yourself or figure out the ways you can gift a Stitch Fix subscription gift card to a friend.

Have a very, very merry Christmas, Friends!!!

5 (or so) Friday Favorites: October 27, 2017

Happy Friday!

I have to say that for me this was an A+ week. The weather was spectacular - probably too warm for some, but I'm a fan of warm Octobers. I started off Sunday with a brunch with some of my favorite girlfriends who haven't been able to sit around a table for a long while together. We talked for hours and it was a great way to start the week. Monday we were able to sleep late because there was a teacher work day. On Wednesday I hopped in the car to take mid-week trek to State College, Pennsylvania to spend 24 hours with Joe, my freshman at Penn State University. I stayed right on campus at the beautiful Nittany Lion Inn and I learned how to make coffee in a Keurig like an honest to goodness grown-up. Unfortunately, however, when in Rome, I decided to eat like an 18 year old freshman boy. Yikes.

And I can't even tell you how many times I whispered thanks to God for leading my boy to that school. So many times, I'm pretty sure He was all, "Dude. Give it a rest. You're welcome already."

Later in the week, there was an answer to a prayer I've been praying for a long while. Trust and patience are hard for us, but when He comes through in just the way we hoped? Man, do I love it when that happens. I also had some long conversations with a friend or two that reminded me again of how faithful is a God who does not leave us alone and confused in the seasons of life when we feel we have exactly zero idea of what in the world is the right thing to do. This week I was so grateful for His presence and the way He has put people in my life to be His hands and feet and ears. My life is not remotely perfect. I have a boatload of worries as many of us at this stage of life do. Kelly Corrigan calls it the middle place - that place when we are caught between concern for our parents and our children, all the while trying to figure out what in the world is to become of us as each season continues to pummel us with change. I hate change. But God doesn't change. Ever. It's perhaps my favorite thing about Him.

It was a good one, friends and it's not because it was all ease and dance parties. It was because I chose to look for Him and He was right there giving me hope for each day. Anyway, here are some other random bits of happy from the week.

1. Kate's Hair Bow Nail Color

Go here. Right now. Read about Kate. Look at her sweet face and her pretty bow. Order this. That's all.

2. RX Bars

When I was doing the Whole30, I was always looking for something to have when I was away from home (which meant I was at a baseball field) and needed to eat, but couldn't find anything that was compliant. I read about these RX Bars and found some at Trader Joe's. I will tell you they're not easy on the teeth, but they are really yummy. Later, I read an article that said Whole30 was removing them from the compliant list because people were misusing them as a way to curb sugar addiction as opposed to being used as in an emergency situation when food is unavailable. And to that I say, "What part of "IF I HAVE TO EAT ONE MORE PIECE OF CAULIFLOWER I WILL HARM SOMEBODY." is not an emergency? Don't be such a jerk, man."

3. The Mothers by Brit Bennett

I know I mentioned that I bought Gabrielle Union's book last week, but I've read so many memoirs and non-fiction lately that I wanted to read a fiction book or two next. I've had this book on my list for a long time. Here's part of the synopsis from Amazon:

Set within a contemporary black community in Southern California, Brit Bennett's mesmerizing first novel is an emotionally perceptive story about community, love, and ambition. It begins with a secret.

"All good secrets have a taste before you tell them, and if we'd taken a moment to swish this one around our mouths, we might have noticed the sourness of an unripe secret, plucked too soon, stolen and passed around before its season."

The central character is a 17 year old girl who has just lost her mother to suicide and has started a secret relationship with the pastor's son. I'm only 30% in - thanks for that info, Kindle - and the characters are all people that feel so real that you want to sit down, have a chat, and get to know them better. I don't know which way the plot will turn next, but so far I'm a fan.

4. Dirty John Podcast

I know. This seems really "sketch" and also "sus". That's "sketchy" and "suspect" for you who might not have had the enlightening experience of driving a car full of teenagers around. This six episode true crime podcast is both of those things. It's not porn though, I promise. Think what we used to watch on Dateline/PrimeTime/20/20 every week. I heard about it on The PopCast with Knox and Jamie and decided to download it before I took my road trip to State College. I finished it on my way back. OH MY WORD. So creepy and so good.

5. Gap Luxe Tees

During part of the day while I was visiting Joe, he had to go record a sports podcast and for some reason I guess the hosts weren't looking to have someone's mom join them as a special guest. Whatever. Anyway, I took that opportunity to go to a few outlets near the university. These tees were 50% off and I bought them in two different colors. I actually went in to get a short sleeve tee to wear with these pajama pants because I am a weirdo who can only sleep in long pants and short sleeves. No shorts. No long sleeves. Anyway, these tees are so soft and fit so well that they can be worn for sleeping or for waking. Any time a piece of apparel can go from my bed to outside in the real world, I'm in.

6. Aldie General Store & Cafe

If you are in my area, I would suggest gathering up your girlfriends - or your husband and kids - and finding your way to this adorable Aldie General Store & Cafe right down Route 50 West. There is outdoor and indoor seating and the atmosphere is so fun and unique. (All I'm saying to my local peeps is this: It's not Panera. Yay! ) It has an amazing menu and the brunch was great. The sweet gal who took our order has a fabulous Australian accent, so be sure to ask her lots of questions so you can listen to it. Highly recommend this precious place.

That's all, folks. Have a wonderful weekend!

Stitch Fix Summary: October 2017

My Stitch Fix box came this weekend! Last time nothing really fit, so this time I was happy to see that everything they sent fit perfectly. Also, after my last shipment I went into my style profile and changed some of the prices I was willing to spend to lower price points. The stylist did take this into consideration and I found that the costs of the items were down this time. I kept three of the five pieces from this box.

It occurs to me that I have quite a few new readers since I first started blogging about Stitch Fix so if you aren't aware of how it works or need a refresher, here's the gist:

You go to the Stitch Fix icon about mid-way down this post to the right which will take you to the website. You will then fill out a survey answering questions about your style tastes, sizes and amount you normally spend on different items. Combinations of outfits are pictured and you rate them as something you would love, like, or hate. You can sign up for monthly or every other month shipments. You pay $20/box for a stylist to pick five items for you based on your survey and then those five items are shipped to your door. Once you get your box, you have three days to try on your items and decide what you like.  If you choose any of the items, your $20 is credited to the total. You then send back the items you don't want in a postage paid envelope that is included with your box. If you buy all five items, you get a 25% discount. If you are kind enough to use my referral code then I get $25 off of my next box. You can copy and paste this code:

https://www.stitchfix.com/referral/4559584

Here's a look at what I received this month.

Item 1: Just USA Paola High Rise Distressed Scissor Hem Skinny Jean

Item 2: Mixed Threads Rydel Cold Shoulder Top

Here's the thing. I don't need any more distressed jeans and I thought about not even trying these on my body, but then I couldn't help myself. These were great. They're really comfortable and the perfect length. They don't bag in the knees and they cost less than any of the previous jeans I've been shipped. As I live 99% of my life in jeans, I decided that these were a keep.

Now, let's talk about this awesome plaid shirt. Part of filling out your style profile for the Stitch Fix stylist is to include your Pinterest board or blog if you like. My stylist mentioned that he looked at my blog and found out how much I like plaid. Smart Stylist. If you read here a few weeks ago, you know that I have some misgivings about all the elaborate sleeves going on this season and I've had about enough of the cold shoulder business. I have so far resisted owning a cold shoulder top, but now that the trend is likely on its last legs, I've decided to jump on the bandwagon. I am powerless over plaid flannel when it starts really feeling like fall outside which has caused me to make this clearly dumb decision because now I will actually have literal cold shoulders. Oh well, it's a keep.

Other outfit details:
Born Felicia Boots Similar Cross Body Bag Similar Earrings

Item 3: Fate Bessi Button Sleeve Detail Pullover
Item 4: Tom's Classic Alpargata Solid Canvas Slip-On Flats

While the stylists clearly have been reading many of my comments, they simply haven't heard my plea for no wool in any garments they send. I feel like I've emphasized it over and over to no avail. This cute sweater only had a small percentage of wool, but that's still a deal breaker for me. I realize this limits my sweater options, but I just can't do it. I really loved how the sweater fit. It wasn't too bulky, but was still comfortable and had great button detailing on the sleeve which is slightly less annoying than other sleeve madness I've seen. The side slit also made it unique. I would love to wear this sweater if it wouldn't make me feel like I had a combination of pink eye and chicken pox. This was a return. :-(

The Tom's canvas slip ons are a great neutral color and would have looked perfect with tons of items in my closet this fall. My problem is that I have a really high arch and Tom's just don't have enough support for my feet. These were a return.

Item 5: Tinsel Tameria Distressed Colored Skinny Jean

I received my box on a Saturday, opened it on a Sunday and pulled out these great army green colored denim pants right away. I was out the door minutes after opening the box wearing this exact outfit to brunch with a bunch of my girls. The color makes them a bit different from regular jeans and perfect for fall. The fit was perfect and the distressing was just the right amount. These were a keep.

Other outfit details:

Well, that's it for this month. I was happy to see that the stylist did take my comments into consideration for the most part. The prices were more reasonable and as usual they hit the nail on the head with style and fit.

Remember you can get Stitch Fix for Men now, too! Don't forget my referral code.

Have a great Wednesday!

5 Friday Favorites: October 13, 2017 Edition

It's time for 5 Favorite Things on a Friday. Have a look!

1. All The Plaid For Fall

It's finally feeling like fall here this week and if you've read here long enough, you know I am a sucker for plaid all the time, but especially in the fall. I bought this shirt a few weeks ago at Gap. Since my moral code prohibits me from wearing another college's spirit wear I chose it for the blue/grey colors and wore it to Penn State when we went there for a tailgate and game a few weeks ago. I love the fit. It was perfect for wearing tucked, half tucked or untucked. So, basically it meets all your tucking needs. Gap is having 40% off with the code HAPPY.

Here's a photo of my boys and me at PSU just so you can see that you don't have to be all pensive and moody in your plaid Gap shirt like that model. What's her problem? Maybe she needed to go untucked?

In addition to plaid, I'm a sucker for St. Patrick's Day, so just think about how happy your March 17, 2018 self will be if you have this in your closet that day. It's already on sale and you can get an additional 50% off with the code LUCKYU so obviously JCrew has St. Paddy's Day on the brain, too.

Also, maybe the fall weather just makes you want to watch Netflix all weekend. Or maybe you're like me and you know that the Texas Longhorns seem to prefer to push a lot of their games to double overtime. (Lord, have mercy.) No matter the time of kick-off and no matter whether they win or lose, the Horns tend to force me to take to my bed after a game. If you're going to need to be prepared for immediate lounging and/or sleeping, these plaid nightshirts are on sale at Nordstrom.

2. Sapling Press Greeting Cards

Last weekend when I was in Texas for my high school reunion, my friend Lori and I went shopping around our old, yet newly revamped, town square. Our square used to boast a donut shop, a hardware store and a flower shop to meet all your Homecoming Mum needs and that was about it. Now it is teaming with cute little boutiques and shops. We stayed in one shop forever and read every last greeting card by this company. We were cracking up and eventually each bought at least four cards that we'll probably end up sending to each other. So funny.

3. Chance the Rapper

Y'all. This is gonna seem super weird because usually I put songs on Friday Favorites that I hear on Christian radio and also I AM OLD. I don't know anything about this guy except that this summer a bunch of the young folk in our area went to see him in concert. As previously mentioned I am OLD, so I just kind of scoffed at the whole thing because "those crazy kids". I somehow happened on this performance last week and I cannot even pretend to be hip enough or smart enough or enlightened enough to know exactly what all he is getting at here, but this is what I can tell you. I watched it three times and I cried every time. Not just teary or a little choked up, but legit tears were rolling down my cheeks and I don't even really know why. I'm not sure I really get it, but I think it's beautiful.  My kid is going to be so embarrassed that his dumb ol' mom thinks she's cool listening to Chance the Rapper, but he's going to have to deal. I'm a fan of this song/poem/rap/what-have-you. Also, I'm old.

4. Smashbox Photo Finish Primer

I bought a trial size of this primer at Ulta awhile ago and I really didn't know exactly the purpose, but I figured that at this point in my life, since there seemed to be no spackling or caulk available, this might be a good call. I actually bought it again recently and I think it does help makeup go on smoother and maybe helps it stay put. It's also supposed to help with fine lines and wrinkles and large pores. Whatever, I don't know about that. I could be throwing my money away, but things are getting real around here on my face, so I am sticking with it.

5. If You Only Knew: My Unlikely, Unavoidable Story of Becoming Free by Jamie Ivey

I've mentioned Jamie Ivey's podcast here before and I listen to it every week. She recently wrote her first book and I was lucky to sign up for her launch team so that I just finished an advanced copy. Jamie is so honest and open about her journey. She emphasizes the ways God pursues us no matter how far we run from Him. It is a beautiful, vulnerable story that it worth your time. The book doesn't release until January, but you can pre-order it HERE.

Have a great weekend! And GO HORNS! BEAT OU!!!

September's Stitch Fix Summary

Good morning, Friends!

It's Stitch Fix Review Day here at The View From Behind Home Plate. I received a box a couple of weeks ago and unfortunately I wasn't able to keep any of the items.

Actually, "unfortunately" is a relative term because I feel like a certain someone in my house would pull that prefix off that word right quick. This box came right on the heels of the Nordstrom Sale of Summer 2017, otherwise known as the period of time where my husband asked me "You need boots? I didn't realized we were out of boots. We're out of jeans? That's weird. I thought we had jeans."

The problem with this box was not necessarily the style of each item, but  the fit. I was really surprised by that since it has been very, very rare that all of the items I've received haven't fit perfectly. What was even more surprising was that two of the items were too small and two of them were too big.

Life is a mystery, y'all. These are the types of questions we will likely not know the answer to on this side of heaven.

Anyway, I do continue to be a Stitch Fix devotee and have no plans to cancel my subscription. I thought most of the things were super cute, and even better I thought they did a great job of choosing pieces that could easily transition from summer to fall, so I thought they were worth sharing.

Here's a look at the pieces I received paired with some of the stuff in my closet.

Spade & Heart
Cally Tie Front Top

This navy top was really cute with a great little tie at the top. I am totally down with a flowy top especially at the end of a season in which I spent a lot of time with Ben and Jerry, but this was really too flowy. There was too much fabric so that it bordered on maternity-ish.

Jeans/Clutch from Stitch Fix Two Years Ago/Sandals From Target Many Years Ago/Similar Here

Kaileigh
Katina Knit Dress

I thought this dress would be a really versatile piece for fall when in a 24 hour period, you're not really sure if you are going to be sweating or freezing. Unfortunately, it was way, way, way too tight. And for emphasis: "WAAAYYY". (Thanks, Ben and Jerry.)

Colette
Chavez Pop Color Cuff Knit Top

This top has my name written all over it. I love the stripes. I love the neckline. I love the colored cuffs.

What's the problem, lady?

The problem here is that I have a top incredibly similar that Stitch Fix sent me a couple of years ago that is in my very own closet right this minute.

And also, the aforementioned "WAAAAYYY too tight." Ugh.

Similar Black Denim Here/Flats from WAY long ago/Similar Flats Here
Y'all: The black bag is from SteinMart 10 years ago. I am not kidding.
Do what you will with that info. I have loved it forever.

Crescent
Amparo Tie Neck Tunic

I do love a tunic top, but for a short girl, it can be tricky. There can't be too much extra fabric or you look like you just threw on your jeans under your nightgown. I don't wear red very often, but I liked this and the fringe on the hem was a bonus. Unfortunately, this was just too big all over. Too long and too wide, just a lot of TOO. Insert sad face.

Octavia
Charlotte Striped & Floral Print Scarf

This scarf was fine. Apparently, all the ice cream I ate this summer didn't make it to my neck, so this actually fit. It's just that I went through a scarf addiction phase not too long ago and my closet has more scarves in it than is logical right now. I do want to point out that this Old Navy dress is practically zero dollars, is flowy in all the right ways, and can be worn year round depending on how you style it. I'm not the boss of you, but if I were you, I'd snag one today.

Y'all have a great Tuesday  that feels like a Monday!!

July Stitch Fix Success!!!

I spent most of the weekend going cross-eyed looking at all the things in all the categories from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. I think I officially need a new contact prescription now. There is a lot out there and so many fashion bloggers giving advice on the best deals and their favorite picks. I've got my (quickly deteriorating) eyes on some boots, some wedges, 3 different totes, about 47 pairs of jeans, 8-10 tops, 2 bracelets and a pair of earrings.  All that to say, that I'm going to have to spend much of the day realizing that I do not have Oprah's bank account and do some serious re-evaluating of my online shopping cart. *sigh*

Speaking of fashion, though, I did get my new Stitch Fix Box right before the 4th. I have numerous friends who seem to love it and some who aren't impressed. After a couple of years of receiving boxes every other month, I'm still in the "love it" category.

My most recent box was perhaps one of the best I have received. I could have kept all five pieces, but doing the math and knowing that that pesky Nordstrom sale was right around the corner, I tried to be reasonable.

Here's a look at the loot.

Honey Punch
Luke Tassel Detail Knit Top

I love this top. One of my issues with my past boxes have had to do with color. I am fairly strict about the colors I wear. (fairly strict? That makes zero sense.) Anyway, I like black, white, blue and green. That's about it. No pastels, no orange, pink, or yellow and rarely red. This navy top is adorable. I am not a Spirit Wear baseball mom because one year I bought Spirit Wear and we had two quick losses and a mighty fast exit from the summer AllStar tournament. Clearly, this was the fault of my wardrobe.  For that reason, this top was an even more welcome addition to my summer baseball gear because red, white and blue were our team's colors and also 'Merica. This was a sure-fire keep.

Jeans/Shoes from Banana Republic many moons ago/Earrings/Similar Bangles

Skies are Blue
Nielsen Henley Top

I adore this top. Plaid is one of my love languages, so I wanted to keep it right off the bat. It is fitted at the top and flowy at the bottom, but not too much. It's really comfortable and perfect for the ridiculously hot summer days we're having. This was a keep.

THML
Janie Embroidered Dress

This dress was so pretty. The embroidery was gorgeous. It was lined which is a must for a white dress and it fit perfectly. I love wearing dresses in the summer and therefore I already have quite a few. It was hard to let this one go, but as I received this just before our baseball tournament started, the white was giving me an eye twitch. It just didn't match my life in that moment. Even though I would have never worn it to a game, I still had visions of rusty brown baseball dirt all over it because somehow that dirt lives in my house for the entire summer no matter what. Sadly, this was a return.

THML
Marlayna Knit Dress

I was so excited when I saw this dress that I almost started singing The Star Spangled Banner as soon as I took it out of the box. I wore it the very next day to a 4th of July cookout. It is the softest fabric, and it fit perfectly. Best of all, it has pockets and as everyone knows pockets on a dress are evidence of God's unending love for us. I can't remember where that is in the Bible, but I feel like it is. This was a keep.

O + O
Rhett Hand Dyed Hooded Knit Top

This was a perfect lightweight pullover for summer evenings when the temperatures drop a bit. (Which by the way has not happened AT ALL here in Northern Virginia because apparently the sun is trying to kill us.) The 3/4 length sleeve is perfect, the hood is perfect, the stripe and color are perfect and the fit was perfect - not too baggy or bulky. The problem here was that just the week before I had purchased a pretty similar lightweight sweater from the Gap Outlet and I couldn't justify keeping this one. Had it come a week earlier this would have been in my closet for sure. Such a cute top, but I had to return it.

So that's all, folks. I seriously could have kept all five items and if I had I would have received a 25% discount. I thought about it long and hard, but in the end I kept three.
